FORGE SERIES — Production Guide & Framework

Version: 1.0 (Pilot Phase) Created: 2026-08-30 Purpose: High-yield per-topic revision cards for NRE-I preparation

THE FORGE PHILOSOPHY

Every piece of content must earn its place by proving its exam relevance.

The “Earn Your Place” Test — for every item, answer YES to at least one:

  1. Has this appeared in NRE/past papers?
  2. Is this a common trap/error from recalled papers?
  3. Is this essential to understand the core concept?
  4. Will this help discriminate between answer choices?
  5. Is this a high-yield association the exam loves?

If NO to all five → CUT IT.

CARD STRUCTURE (9 ZONES)

Each Forge Card has exactly 9 zones. No more, no less.

Zone Purpose Word Guidance
🔑 One-Line Answer The distillation anchor — if everything else is forgotten, this survives 1-2 sentences max
🎯 Exam Attack Map How the NRE tests this topic — patterns, disguises, classic distractors 4-6 bullets
📋 Core Concept Must-know essentials — tables, algorithms, comparisons. NO paragraphs Tables preferred
⚠️ Trap Field Top 3-5 traps with reality checks 3-5 traps
🧠 Memory Anchor Mnemonic/visual/analogy to lock it in 1-3 anchors
🏥 Clinical Reasoning Trigger “When you see X, think Y because Z” 1-3 triggers
🔗 Cross-Links Connections to other cards with exam relevance 3-6 links
⚡ Rapid Fire 3-5 MCQs testing different angles 3-5 MCQs
✓ Confidence Check Self-assessment prompt 1 line

YIELD RATING SYSTEM

Stars Meaning Action
★★★★★ Appears in EVERY paper, multiple times Must know cold
★★★★☆ Appears in most papers High priority
★★★☆☆ Appears regularly Solid priority
★★☆☆☆ Appears occasionally Know the one-liner
★☆☆☆☆ Rarely tested Low priority

EVIDENCE HIERARCHY

For every piece of content, source from this priority:

  1. Tier 1 (Sacred): User’s own exam recalls, personal errors, confirmed remembered questions
  2. Tier 2: Real recalled/leaked NRE papers
  3. Tier 3: Intelligence reports
  4. Tier 4: NRE50 system data
  5. Tier 5: Official PM&DC syllabus
  6. Tier 6: PMDC/NRE mock banks
  7. Tier 7: MedCORE notes, planner lessons, cheatsheets
  8. Tier 8 (Support only): USMLE banks — never as primary NRE evidence

PRODUCTION WORKFLOW

Per-Card Workflow (30-60 minutes)

Step Action Time Source
1. MINE Gather exam-relevant data 10 min Past papers, intel, error logs, NRE50 data
2. DISTILL Extract only high-yield content 10 min Apply “Earn Your Place” test ruthlessly
3. STRUCTURE Fill the 9-zone template 15 min Template-driven
4. VALIDATE Check against exam patterns 5 min Does every zone serve exam performance?
5. POLISH Format, visual hierarchy, final review 5 min Clean, scannable, professional
6. SEAL Set aside, revisit after 48h for final check — Fresh eyes catch what tired eyes miss

Batch Production Strategy

  1. Mine the entire system first (gather all data)
  2. Map all topics in the system (syllabus + exam weightage)
  3. Create cluster maps (see the big picture)
  4. Produce cards cluster by cluster (maintains coherence)
  5. Cross-link after the cluster is complete (connections are clearer)

The “60-Second Test”
